Petrochemical Solutions

Corrosion-resistant solutions for refinery and downstream processing.

Overview

Petrochemical facilities operate with aggressive chemical exposures, elevated temperatures, and continuous duty cycles. Flanges connect distillation columns, heat exchangers, reactors, and product storage systems. Corrosion resistance and dimensional stability are paramount because downtime costs exceed $1M per hour in many operations.

Applications

Distillation column overhead/sump connections

Heat exchanger inlet/outlet flanges

Reactor vessel nozzles

Product blend drum connections

Alkylation unit piping

Hydrotreating systems

Aromatic extraction processes

Relevant Standards

  • ASME B16.5 (standard and raised face)
  • ASME B16.47 (large diameter columns)
  • NACE MR0175 (sour service compliance)
  • API 594 (check valves - applicable flanges)

Typical Service Specifications

Petrochemical flanges operate across 150-1500 PSI with temperatures from -20°F to 800°F. Sour service (H2S) requires NACE MR0175. Stainless steel grades must resist sulfidic corrosion and chloride pitting. Complete MTR documentation with corrosion testing certificates often required.
